The act of creating something is more important than the result!
When you create content you should be proud of yourself just for doing it. But i’ll be the first to admit that’s not always what happens. Who else struggles with the constant urge to compare your content and the number of likes to all the other amazing content creators you see out there? I know I’ve been guilty of this more than once or twice🙋🏼♀️
But here’s the thing, NUMBERS DON’T MATTER! Worry less about what other people will think about your work and more about what YOU think about your work! Start creating just to create! Create content that makes you happy and that you’re proud of! Everyone starts somewhere so instead of comparing your journey to someone else’s, take a step back and think about how far you’ve come!
This was one of the first curated pictures Jon and took together last fall. It was before we really started experimenting with angles and poses (now we definitely would have used an angle that didn’t show off the dumpsters in the background😂). This pic isn’t perfect but I’m proud of it nonetheless, because it shows how much my content has grown!
I’ve learned and evolved so much over the past year and my content has evolved with me. It’s taken a lot of trial and error to get to where I am now, and I’m nowhere near done! I’m always challenging myself to create better content than the day before and to create something that inspires not just myself, but others! Nothing happens over night! So wherever you’re at in your journey, be proud, and never stop creating!
Here’s a couple quick content creation tips for you guys:
1. Bring props! It makes your job 10x easier and you’ll never have to worry about what to do with your hands!
2. Plan ahead! Do your Pinterest research so you have an idea of poses and angles you’d want to try!
3. Have a backup plan, don’t get stuck on the vision that you had in your head. Sometimes the shot you saw on your feed just isn’t gonna work for you and that’s OKAY! Sometimes your second or third try will come out better than the shot you had planned!
4. Have fun with it! Don’t take yourself too seriously. Your best content will come when you’re truly LOVING the process!
