Whether you’re hopping on a plane to go explore a new city or heading on a beach trip with the girls, finding stylish travel outfits can be a challenge! When it comes to dreaming up stellar travel outfits, it’s important to find options that are equal parts comfortable and stylish! Here are some tips on how to style the perfect airport outfit!

What to Wear During Travel

Staying comfortable is the main priority on travel days and fashion-savvy fliers know that in order to master the art of comfortable yet stylish traveling, we need to consider a few different factors.
To start things off, picking quality fabrics is arguably the most important factor. Wrinkle-free fabrics are a foolproof way of keeping your plane travel outfit intact even during a 15-hour flight abroad.
Airport temperatures are unpredictable, so layering is a must. Whether it’s the middle of summer or a cold winter day, having a knitted sweater, a lightweight blazer, or a leather jacket ready to grab will help you stay warm and comfortable during your airport stay – flight delays included.
Breathable, lightweight fabrics will always come in handy when you want to sit back and enjoy your flight. Go for a pair of cozy leggings with the right amount of stretch to keep you comfortable. Avoid pants like jeans or slacks that can be uncomfortable when you’re sitting for a long time (especially skinny jeans).
If you’ve been on a plane enough times, you know that an oversized neutral color scarf is the ultimate layering piece. Anything that can double as a snuggle-worthy blanket on the plane is your best friend and thankfully, scarves fall under this exact category.
Feeling comfy starts from the basics. Swap your regular underwire bra with a wireless bra that offers the ultimate amount of flexibility, for an easy, scratch-free plane ride.
Finally, while your favorite pair of heels are certainly street style approved, looking fashionable while flying usually has its own unwritten rules and wearing a pair of breathable shoes that are easy to slip on and off is one of them. Slip on sneakers or even ankle booties with a low (less than 2 inches) block heel will work perfectly!

Accessories To Bring For Travel

We’ve already established that an oversized scarf is the best way to top off your ensemble but your accessories don’t have to stop there!
If you are planning on bringing a hat with you, it’s best to carry it on with you. This way it won’t get crushed in your suitcase, and it also makes your outfit look just a little more put together!
Socks are definitely a must for every type of transportation, but especially plane travel. Anti-compression socks are known for keeping swelling away during long-hour planned flights while also making you feel comfy.
Every stylish airport outfit needs a final touch, and what’s an easier way to look chic than adding some dainty jewelry? Not only will this instantly spice up your outfit but it means you save on the luggage weight too!
Travel Bags And Luggage Ideas

Now that you’ve planned your travel outfits and accessories, you have to decide how to organize them!
A multi-purpose wallet is definitely the best air travel accessory. Keep all your essentials, including your boarding pass, ID and passport in one place for easy access.
If you’re an over packer like me, bring a roller bag as your carry on. This is not only a great way to pack any future purchases that don’t fit in your checked luggage but also the perfect way to carry your laptop, iPad, or charger with you. I also like to keep my toiletries, medication, a change of clothes, etc. with me just case!
Use a big cross body or shoulder bag as your personal item and cary your purse inside of it. This will give you a little more room to play with while still keeping you looking fashion forward!
Another Reason To Look Fashionable While Flying By Plane
A source once told Goop: “On a Virgin flight back to Heathrow, I spotted one of the staff’s monitors that read, ‘Look for well-dressed people to upgrade.’” Obviously, this won’t be the case every time, however, it’s yet another fantastic reason to put some extra effort into your travel outfit styling.
